Landscape East & West received the regional 2023 Contractor of the Year Award from the Pacific Northwest chapter of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI). Our hardscape re-design of a private backyard won in the category of Residential Landscape Design/Outdoor Living Under $100,000.
Overall, the project presented several unique challenges but also had an element of collaboration between the Landscape East & West team and the homeowner. These are the types of projects we love, and we are beyond honored to be recognized by the NARI Pacific Northwest chapter for our efforts! Enjoy Your Beautiful Spring Garden
Spring officially began on March 20th and this year the spectacular Pacific Northwest cherry blossoms arrived right on time. Since then spring has been blooming all around us. While we may have some gray skies and rainy days ahead, we’re fortunate to be surrounded by a rainbow of colorful flowers. Living atop a hill can certainly provide ample and usable space if designed and landscaped in a way that best suits a homeowner’s needs. However, additional space isn’t the only item a contractor and designer should keep in mind. There can be challenges with a sloped yard, such as drainage, retaining wall construction, and more. This type of space requires creativity and thoughtful planning.

This custom project features incredible details that showcase how our Portland and Hillsboro landscaping crews can bring homeowners’ visions to fruition.

Today we’re featuring one of our recent Hillsboro landscaping efforts. Our clients required elegance as well as functionality for their new landscaping, as they were preparing to host their grandchild´s wedding. Their goal was to convert their own space into a graceful, serviceable location for the big event. Fortunately, our clients had the foresight to contact our team early in order to complete their project early. In fact, we finished it a full year before the wedding.

When advising on how to create a space for outdoor living, Portland landscapers may suggest adding hardscaping, a patio cover, and fire pit to expand outdoor living space in order to enjoy it during inclement weather. What homeowners may overlook
is the importance of landscape lighting. In Portland, the winter months bring dark days—many Portlanders feel disheartened at the prospect of leaving for work in darkness and arriving back home in darkness. Landscape lighting can make an outdoor space feel cozy and inviting, even during Portland’s soggy winter months.

Functionality and visual appeal are just two of the ultimate goals of many landscaping and installation projects. With an old retaining wall and drainage problems, our Beaverton clients knew that they could do better so they looked for expert Beaverton landscapers. In order to tackle their backyard dilemmas, the homeowners contacted our Portland landscaping company at the perfect time, early March 2015. Because the design and installation process each take about three to four weeks at minimum, we encourage all of our potential clients to contact us as early in the year as possible. Thanks to our client’s forethought, we were able to discuss their goals and concerns, as well as complete the design process and installation, before summer was in full swing.

The rainy days in the Pacific Northwest are negligible when you take into account the beautiful spring, summer and fall weather that our area enjoys. As much as our clients in southwest Portland loved being outside, their old patio made it difficult to enjoy their outdoor living space during inclement weather. In summer 2014, Our Portland landscaping company transformed our clients’ patio and deck into a seamless all-weather outdoor living space.

When a family moved into their “builder’s special” Northeast Portland home, they knew they needed the assistance of a trusted, local landscaping company to help them with the aesthetic appeal of their property and the challenges that came with it. In the winter of 2014, my landscaping team and I worked with the family to address their wants and needs in order to create both a beautiful and functional low-maintenance landscape.
